Exercising Faith

Jesus replied saying Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”    Matthew 17:

Faith is like a muscle it needs to be exercised daily or it will lose its effectiveness

Faith is like a muscle it needs to be exercised daily or it will lose its effectiveness

I wish I could fast forwarded my life to get a glimpse of where God is taking me.
I mean if God can show us what will become of us in the next few years wouldn’t that be great?

It certainly would save us from a lot of bad decisions and wrong turns were destined to make along the way.

In this we could avoid bringing temporary people into our space or avoid some choices that will have a negative lasting factor on our lives.

If God did that for us it would be great but wouldnt that  also be  boring and  predictable?
Jesus is the weather man, he predicts the forecast and he creates different climates for specific seasons in our lives. How confident would we be in God if we didn’t have to rely on him for each step or decision we had to make.

The truth is God wants us to lean on him daily at every waking moment of our lives, he wants us to rely on him with our hope for tomorrow, he wants us to exercise and gain faith unparalleled (never seen or experienced before) because without it its not possible to please him.) We exercise to improve our heart health and we lift weights to build and tone our muscles.  But what about our spiritual walk, what about building spiritual muscles

What do we do to stay hopeful, encouraged, and faithful when it seems as if life is taking on a rollercoaster ride. Truth is faith is like a muscle you need to exercise it daily to keep it active because if you don’t it will gradually decline in its effectiveness.

If you have ever broken a leg and been unable to use it for a time, you will know that you need to work hard to rebuild the muscle that has been weakened by prolonged inactivity.

The physiotherapist will work with you to rebuild what has been lost through lack of use and eventually you will be able to walk on your own again.

In the same way Jesus (the object of our faith) has assured us that exercising our faith is crucial in order to walk along side him, he said to us if we have faith even as small as a mustard seed its enough to move any obstacle in our lives.

The mustard seed is a very small seed but once watered the plant grows to a remarkable LARGE size in comparison to the original mustard seed. The more we exercise our faith is more it  grows within us  and produces  remarkable results. It is not the quantity of faith you have but the quality of faith (confidence) you have in God and God’s Word

It matters not how large or small  Your faith may seem to be; What really counts is WHOM you trust In life’s uncertainty. —Fitzhugh

I’ve realized F…

I’ve realized Fear is a Fact not a Force I’ve acknowledged my fear but I won’t give it power to hold me back as a force Anyone can have faith when things are going right but it takes adversity in life hardship to simulate growth mentally spiritually etc Im not just GOING through stuff im GROWING through stuff life isnt fair life just is that life.. But we are more than conquerors in Christ

Putting Faith into Action

Are you a Visionary or a Wishful Thinker?

Living In your head is such a dangerous thing. It can cripple your reality if you’re not working towards your goal or making progression towards the vision.

Wishful thinking fools you into thinking what exists in your head is more than a figment of your imagination.

Often times all we create in our mind stays in the mind then slowly that new innovative idea withers away with the rest of our puffed up thoughts , then it never yielded tangible evidence.

The word of God makes it clear to us in James 2;14 that faith without works is dead. “What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action is dead

The question I want to propose to you today is, what kind of faith do you have, does it reflect that of a noun or verb?  We ‘ve been taught the differences between Nouns and Verbs and their differences are simple.

A Noun is just a word , that word can be either a person ,place or thing but a Verb is( an action word). The Verb is what ultimately what brings us to the Noun . Any body could talk about the things that they want or places they want to go but they will never achieve it if there is no movement in their life .

The same can be said about our faith. If faith is just talked about (like a noun) without action(the verb) we wont accomplish or move forward in our lives.

In the book of Ruth Naomi had to leave a familiar yet dry and fruitless land called Moab behind in order to get to the place that God wanted her to be in. She stepped out in faith by moving from one land to another.  She didn’t see the harvest that she heard about but she took the chance and went towards the promise

Ruth 1:6 -7

6 Then she arose with her daughters in law, that she might return from the country of Moab: for she had heard in the country of Moab how that the Lord had visited his people in giving them bread.     7 Wherefore she went forth out of the place where she was, and her two daughters in law   with her; and they went on the way to return unto the land of Judah.

For all we know the land could have been just like Moab (dry and fruitless full of misery and bad experiences) but she chose to Activate her faith and move despite of the way she felt

Look at where you are today. Have you activated that kind of faith as yet? Have you applied for that job or perhaps took those extra classes? What about your relationship with God and our self? Do you put aside time to commune with God daily ?Do you set some time aside for yourself so you can work towards the vision and ideas God has deposited in you?

People who are successful at accomplishing personal goals, visions and assignments understand a vision without strategy and action will generate no substantial outcome.

There is a huge difference between wanting something to happen and following a systematic approach for making it happen.

                                           Steps to success

1.      Execute –   Work towards the vision God has deposited in you (James 2:14) What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no works? Can such faith save them? ) But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves” Jame 1;22

2.      Trial and Error- Much of life is a process of trial and error (James 1:12 Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to.

3.     Personal life coaching/counseling- Listen to advice and accept instruction, that you may gain wisdom in the future. Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand.( Proverbs 19:20-21 )Listen to advice and accept instruction, and in the end you will be wise. 21 Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it is the LORD’s purpose that prevails

Maybe its time for some changes starting today! We cant keep reading the word of God day after day without any action being put into place. James 1:22 Encourages us to not only hear and read the word of God but to also do what it says through action and deeds and by this we could avoid living a fruitless life

After reading this today I want you to Activate your Faith then Put that Faith into ACTION!
