Fight or Flight

Fight Or Flight

 Psalms 120:1

“In my distress I cried unto the Lord and he heard me”

As soon as the heat is turned up in our lives we turn to the world for pacifying.

Some find this comfort in drinking, watching pornography ,listening to negative or  depressing secular music or sleeping their life away when depression takes a hold of them BUT as Christians if we claim that the JESUS we serve has the power we say he has and the authority  we so boldly profess to the world then we as Christians ought to turn to him when all hell is breaking loose in our lives and not to the world for comfort.

Easier said than done right? Its true Ive been there and truthfully I’m still there. Sometimes I do find myself turning to secular things for comfort when I feel like God is ignoring my crys. Worldly things however profits nothing, it fills the void for a little while and then your left empty again–searching for something–searching for GOD.

Certain attacks in life are God sent to catapult you to the next level but sometimes the test will  cause you to question certain areas of your life.

Naturally as human we tend to retreat when were being attacked but if you’ve been asking to go to the next level this year you may need to reconsider your method
Ask yourself  this question will I Fight or will I Flee.

Secular pursuits will do nothing but DRAG you to hell with YOUR despairs.

The enemy doesn’t care about the PRESSURES of life or how high the heat is turned up. He only wants to sit back and observe how you will handle the conflict.

Satan is an accuser of the brethren which means his job is to scrutinize our lives and report back to God when our actions are contrary to the manuscript we should be following—the bible. He will sit back and point a finger at us when were not holding up our end of the bargain, he gets a high off of our failures and because we know this we should not give him the satisfaction.

When we experience excessive stress whether from internal worry or external circumstance a bodily reaction is triggered, called the “fight or flight” response

The term  describes a mechanism in the body that enables us humans or animals to mobilize a lot of energy rapidly in order to cope with threats to survival.

If were overwhelmed and feel like were in a hopeless battle we tend to remove ourselves from the equation or in other words FLIGHT but if we see any value in what were trying to obtain or recover we will stand our grounds persevere and FIGHT.

The question you should ask yourself tonight is when trouble continues to arise in my life will I FIGHT or will I FLIGHT. Will I retreat andrn to the worlds advances for  direction or pacifying or will I stand firm and lift my eyes up unto Christ whom my help and livelihood resides from?

Wherever this may be applicable in your life today you have to make the decision for yourself…How bad do you want this and are you willing to stay in the ring and FIGHT?

Hebrews 10:23

Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful”

Putting Faith into Action

}

                                                         Image

Are you a Visionary or a Wishful Thinker?

Living In your head is such a dangerous thing. It can cripple your reality if you’re not working towards your goal or making progression towards the vision.

Wishful thinking fools you into thinking what exists in your head is more than a figment of your imagination.

Often times all we create in our mind stays in the mind then slowly that new innovative idea withers away with the rest of our puffed up thoughts , then it never yielded tangible evidence.

The word of God makes it clear to us in James 2;14 that faith without works is dead. “What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action is dead

The question I want to propose to you today is, what kind of faith do you have, does it reflect that of a noun or verb?  We ‘ve been taught the differences between Nouns and Verbs and their differences are simple.

A Noun is just a word , that word can be either a person ,place or thing but a Verb is( an action word). The Verb is what ultimately what brings us to the Noun . Any body could talk about the things that they want or places they want to go but they will never achieve it if there is no movement in their life .

The same can be said about our faith. If faith is just talked about (like a noun) without action(the verb) we wont accomplish or move forward in our lives.

In the book of Ruth Naomi had to leave a familiar yet dry and fruitless land called Moab behind in order to get to the place that God wanted her to be in. She stepped out in faith by moving from one land to another.  She didn’t see the harvest that she heard about but she took the chance and went towards the promise

Ruth 1:6 -7

6 Then she arose with her daughters in law, that she might return from the country of Moab: for she had heard in the country of Moab how that the Lord had visited his people in giving them bread.     7 Wherefore she went forth out of the place where she was, and her two daughters in law   with her; and they went on the way to return unto the land of Judah.

For all we know the land could have been just like Moab (dry and fruitless full of misery and bad experiences) but she chose to Activate her faith and move despite of the way she felt

Look at where you are today. Have you activated that kind of faith as yet? Have you applied for that job or perhaps took those extra classes? What about your relationship with God and our self? Do you put aside time to commune with God daily ?Do you set some time aside for yourself so you can work towards the vision and ideas God has deposited in you?

People who are successful at accomplishing personal goals, visions and assignments understand a vision without strategy and action will generate no substantial outcome.

There is a huge difference between wanting something to happen and following a systematic approach for making it happen.

                                           Steps to success

1.      Execute –   Work towards the vision God has deposited in you (James 2:14) What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no works? Can such faith save them? ) But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves” Jame 1;22

2.      Trial and Error- Much of life is a process of trial and error (James 1:12 Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to.

3.     Personal life coaching/counseling- Listen to advice and accept instruction, that you may gain wisdom in the future. Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand.( Proverbs 19:20-21 )Listen to advice and accept instruction, and in the end you will be wise. 21 Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it is the LORD’s purpose that prevails

Maybe its time for some changes starting today! We cant keep reading the word of God day after day without any action being put into place. James 1:22 Encourages us to not only hear and read the word of God but to also do what it says through action and deeds and by this we could avoid living a fruitless life

After reading this today I want you to Activate your Faith then Put that Faith into ACTION!
